STEAM RED FACTION + RED FACTION II FAQ

If you encounter a bug while playing through the Red Faction single player campaign which causes the submarine vehicle to explode upon contact with the sub bay water, follow these steps to be able to use the submarine.

1. Download and install Pure Faction. Installing Pure Faction

2. When you are at the sub bay part of the campaign, type "r_maxfps 30" in your console (press ` to go into console): and hit enter. Once you have done this, press the button to drop the submarine into the water. Once the submarine is fully submerged, type "r_maxfps 150" in your console and press enter.
